What is Valorant?
Valorant is an online multiplayer video game. It has been developed by Riot Games. One can only play it on a computer. It has yet to be released on any consoles. Valorant is a global 5v5 (five versus five) team-based tactical shooter game.
One can choose a character, called an Agent, to play. These Agents can use guns and special powers. The game is played on different maps. Teamwork and strategies are important to win this game. This game is so popular that tournaments are held for it. One such tournament recently concluded.

The 2023 Valorant Champions tournament just ended. The esports tournament was held in Los Angeles, USA, from 6th August to 26th August 2023. Sixteen teams took part in the competition. The team known as Evil Geniuses has won this tournament.

Are there similar tournaments held in India?
Yes, similar tournaments are held in India. The popular mobile game Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is conducting a similar contest in India. The qualifier round for this tournament started in August 2023. The finals will be held in October 2023.
