He is a fifty-nine-year-old politician from Australia’s Labor Party who has served as a member of Parliament for more than twenty years. Albanese was brought up by a single mother who suffered from a disability. They lived in social housing.
Albanese said that his childhood is the main reason behind his progressive beliefs. Growing up poor, he saw how badly his mother suffered because she couldn’t afford medicines. He believes in free healthcare for everyone. He is a supporter of the LGBTQ community.</p>

<p>The Liberal Party has been in power in Australia for the past nine years. It was a shock to the Party when Albanese’s Labor Party took power away from them for the first time in a decade.</p>
<p>Under Morrison’s leadership, Australia’s economy grew steadily and even unemployment dropped substantially. During the pandemic, Australia was one such country where the least number of people died. Overall, Morrison did a good job and his business skills were praised by everyone.

Under his leadership, Australia suffered two of its worst natural disasters in history - the bushfires of 2019 and horrible floods that ravaged New South Wales and Queensland.</p>

<p>Morrison’s government and the Liberal Party, in general, did not enjoy high popularity among women voters because of the way they handled women’s issues. Many Australians began to view Morrison as an autocratic leader. </p>

</p> <h5>What promises did Anthony Albanese make?</h5>  <p>Anthony Albanese’s campaign slogan was, ‘Renewal not revolution.’ He wants to gently improve the lives of Australians, not create big changes overnight that will lead to more confusion.</p>

Albanese had promised to raise the minimum salary that all workers in the country earn. He wants to make childcare and elderly care more affordable. He also plans to focus on climate change goals and reduce Australia’s carbon emissions hugely by 2030.
