How is chocolate made?
People love chocolates for their yummy taste. But do you know how it is made?
The main ingredient used to make chocolates is cocoa beans. But raw cocoa is too bitter to eat.
That’s when food processing does its magic. Sugar, milk fat, and other ingredients are mixed with cocoa to make the delicious chocolates.
Milk, white, and dark chocolate

Dark chocolate: Made mostly using cocoa solids, cocoa butter, and sugar. It also has very little or no milk and tastes bitter.
Milk chocolate: It has some cocoa solids and more milk and dairy fat than dark chocolate. These chocolates are lighter in colour and have a sweet taste.
White chocolate: It doesn't have cocoa solids, so it's white. It's made mostly of cocoa butter, milk, and sugar.
How much chocolate should you eat?
It is said that dark chocolates can help reduce stress and improve your heart health and brain function. Still, it's advised not to eat a lot of chocolates.
Too much sugar in milk chocolate can damage your teeth and upset your stomach. That's not good, is it?
Does this mean you can't eat chocolate? No, you can have 1–2 grams of chocolate per week or up to 5 grams of dark chocolate two or three times a week.
But remember to brush your teeth properly after eating chocolates.
