Insect photo competition?!
There are many photo competitions held worldwide. The one we will talk about is unique.
The models of the talented photographers participating in this competition are tiny and special - everyday insects that we often see and shoo away!
Who organised this photography competition?
The Royal Entomological Society held a photography competition. It is an organisation that is dedicated to the study of insects.
The participants, who are not professional photographers, had to take photos of different insects and submit them last year.
There were two groups: over-18 and under-18. The winners of this contest were just announced. The winning photo in the over-18 category was by Luke Chambers, and the under-18 category was won by Gustav Parenmark.
We'll show you some cool photos that everyone took, including the winners.

The importance of such a competition.
A contest judge said insects are one of Earth's most diverse groups, but we still have much to learn about them. This competition helps us see how beautiful they can be.
Insects are super important for our environment. Some, like bees, help pollinate crops and flowers.
But insects are in danger because of things like losing their homes and climate change. This competition and its amazing pictures can inspire people to help save them.
An insect photography contest can also help find new types of insects for scientists to learn about.
