<h5>A Grand Opening</h5><p>After more than 20 years of work, Egypt has finally opened the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) near the Pyramids of Giza. It opened to the public on 4th November 2025 after a big ceremony attended by leaders from 79 countries.</p><p>The museum cost over 1 billion dollars to build. It is now the largest archaeological museum in the world, made to show Egypt’s long and amazing history.</p><h5>The Amazing Egyptian Civilisation</h5><p>The Egyptian civilisation is one of the oldest in the world. It started around 5,000 BCE and lasted for more than 3,000 years.</p><p>The people of ancient Egypt lived near the River Nile. They built great cities, invented hieroglyphic writing, and made the 365-day calendar. Many of those treasures are now kept safely in the new museum.</p><h5>The Grand Egyptian Museum</h5><p>The museum was built to keep Egypt’s history safe and show its treasures to the world.</p><p>Work began in 2005, but it was delayed because of the pandemic and other political problems.</p><p>The museum is only 2 kilometres from the pyramids and covers 500,000 square meters, which is as big as 70 football fields!</p><p>It was designed by Irish architects Heneghan Peng. It shows how people in ancient Egypt lived, worked, and dreamed thousands of years ago.</p><p>During the opening, President El-Sisi said the museum “writes a new chapter in the story of this ancient nation.”</p><p>It is a gift from Egypt to the world; a place that keeps the stories and treasures of the pharaohs alive forever.</p>
