Art sold at an auction!
Can a robot make a painting and sell it for over $1 million (Rs 8,44,26,516)? It sounds like a movie, but it’s true!
A famous company, Sotheby’s, held a big auction. At this auction, an artificial intelligence (AI) robot artist named Ai-Da sold her painting.
The artwork is called A.I. God, a portrait of Alan Turing. It is a picture of a smart man named Alan Turing, who helped create ideas for modern computers and broke secret codes during World War II.
About Ai-Da.

Ai-Da is no ordinary robot. She is the first robot artist in the world! She looks like a human. Her name comes from Ada Lovelace, the first computer programmer.
Ai-Da has many cool skills:
She paints and draws using cameras in her eyes and her robotic arm.
She also writes poems and performs!
Since 2019, Ai-Da has shown her art in many countries. Her first show, Unsecured Futures, was at the University of Oxford. She even spoke at the United Nations!
Ai-Da thought about painting Alan Turing during a talk with her team. She chose the colours and style. She looked at a photo of Turing and used her cameras to study it. Then, she painted it herself!
Arguments regarding AI creating art.
Some people think only humans should create art. They say robots cannot feel emotions, so their art is not real. Others worry that robots will take jobs from artists.
But some people think robot art is exciting. They say it mixes technology with creativity. What do you think? Should robot art be called “real art”?
