About Humayun.

India had many rulers, but the Mughals were very important. Humayun was the second Mughal ruler of India. He was the son of Bābur, who started the Mughal Empire.

Humayun ruled from 1530 to 1540 and again from 1555 to 1556. Sadly, he died in 1556 at the age of 48 after falling down the stairs in his library.

After Humayun died, a beautiful tomb was built for him in Delhi. It was finished in 1570 and is very famous. This tomb was the first garden tomb in India and inspired other buildings, like the Taj Mahal! In 1993, the tomb became a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The tomb is in a big garden with pools and walking paths. It is on a high platform, with arches all around. People from all over the world come to visit this amazing place and learn about its history.

Makeover plans for the tomb!

There are new plans to change the tomb. The Indian government has approved a plan for a company called the Sabhyata Foundation to make the tomb even more exciting.

The company wants to add fun things like sound and light shows to attract more visitors. They also want to add a café, restaurant, elevators, and other new things. The company may even hold events about Sufi beliefs and Humayun’s love for astronomy.

The plan faces criticism!

Not everyone is happy with these plans. Some experts believe that adding new things, like restaurants and shows, will change the special feeling of the tomb. They are worried that the gardens and old buildings might be damaged.

They also think that restaurants could create pollution. According to the law, old buildings like this one should not be changed too much. Some people are afraid that the tomb will lose its cultural importance.

The Ministry of Culture says that not all the changes, like the restaurant and café, will happen. However, some think the changes will bring more visitors and help the tomb.
