Who has won the trophy?

Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah won a big cricket prize! He got the Sir Garfield Sobers Award for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2024! This is a very important award.

Bumrah had a great year. He played very well in all types of matches: Test matches, One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and T20s.

He is the fifth Indian player to win this award. Other winners from India are Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Virat Kohli.

This is Bumrah's second ICC award this year. He also won the ICC Men's Test Cricketer of 2024.

T20 World Cup: Jasprit Bumrah helped India win the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024! He took 15 wickets and won the Player of the Tournament award.

Test Matches: He took 71 wickets in 13 matches. This is the most by any bowler in 2024 and the second-best for an Indian fast bowler in one year.

Big Competition: Bumrah won the award over Travis Head (Australia), Harry Brook, and Joe Root (England). They all played very well, too.

Bumrah’s performances show why he is one of the best fast bowlers in the world today.
