India and China’s agreement.
India and China are working together to keep peace in the Himalayas! Both nations have agreed to a patrolling arrangement along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Himalayas. This is important because it helps calm the tension that started in 2020.
The agreement happened just before the BRICS summit in Russia, which PM Modi attended. Both countries talked a lot and agreed that keeping peace and respecting the LAC is essential for good relations.

The issue between India and China.
For years, India and China have argued over their borders. They even fought a war in 1962, where India lost some land. Things improved in the 1990s but got tense again with small fights in 2013, 2014, and 2017.
When India changed Article 370, affecting Ladakh, China was really upset. In 2020, things got worse. Indian and Chinese soldiers had a big fight in June 2020, and many got hurt. This was the worst fight in decades.
Since then, there have been more clashes, making things worse. However, later, both governments held various talks, which led to the current announcement.
What does this latest announcement mean?
Even though India and China still have some border problems, they want to be friends! When countries get along, they can trade more things. Did you know China is India’s biggest supplier of things like phones and medicines?
Making peace is also great for China because it wants to be more influential with groups like BRICS. Chinese companies have had a tough time in India since 2020, but they hope being friends again will allow them to sell their products here.
By working together, both countries can grow and become stronger. Isn't it great to see countries working together for peace?
