India Ranks Among World's Most Inactive Nations
Study conducted!

A study from Stanford University found something surprising about people’s inactivity worldwide.

The study, published in the journal Nature, examined the daily steps taken by many people and found that in some places, people don’t walk at all, which means they have a very inactive lifestyle.

The study has ranked the countries for low physical activity levels, and sadly, India is on the list.

India placed on the list!

India is number 8 on a list of how much people walk, with Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia, taking the top 3 spots. On average, people in India take about 4,300 steps a day.

The study says that living in big cities and changing lifestyles are the main reasons why people in India don't exercise much.

In big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, people often use cars and buses instead of walking, which means less time walking.

So, there is a need to promote physical exercise and raise awareness about it. It’s important for everyone to stay active to stay healthy and happy!

Being inactive can be harmful!

When we don’t move around enough, it can cause problems. Our muscles might get weak, and doing simple things can become hard. Sitting too much can also make us gain weight and might lead to health issues like heart problems and diabetes.

Being inactive can also make us feel down and cause trouble sleeping. It’s okay to feel tired sometimes, especially when we need rest, but if it becomes a habit, it can be bad for our health.

So, let’s get moving! Play outside, walk instead of using the car for short distances, or dance around your room. Every move is a step to feeling great and staying healthy!
