<h5>What is the Women’s Premier League?</h5><p>In India, cricket is a religion rather than a game. Cricket is popular everywhere, from huge cities to little towns. During cricket matches, stadiums are filled with people shouting for and supporting their favourite players and teams. Cricket was once regarded as primarily a male sport. But things are changing, and girls are participating actively in this sport.</p><p>They are participating in local matches and major competitions. Even the Indian women’s cricket team is doing well, and people greatly support them. So, the BCCI decided to start the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in 2023. The WPL is similar to the Indian Premier League (IPL) but only features female cricketers.</p><p>Like how the IPL helped men’s cricket grow, the BCCI thinks the WPL can help benefit women's cricket. However, there are certain differences between the IPL and the WPL. There are only five teams in the WPL - Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Giants (GG), Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and UP Warriorz (UPW).</p><p>The format is also different from the IPL. In the WPL, the teams play each other, and the table-topper advances directly to the final. The second and third teams play the eliminator, and the winner advances to the final. The final was held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. DC had directly advanced to the final after topping the league table. RCB was third in the table and had to defeat second-placed Mumbai Indians to reach the final. RCB showed their strength and determination to defeat MI and earn a spot in the grand final.</p><p>In the final, both teams tried their best. However, RCB emerged as the ultimate winner, winning the trophy in style. All the RCB players, including stars like Smriti Mandhana, Sophie Molineux, Ellyse Perry, etc., performed their best to help RCB win the trophy.
