Female students face barriers in poor countries.

In some poor nations, families can’t afford to send their girls to school because of the cost of uniforms and supplies.

In Togo, a small country in West Africa, this problem makes it hard for girls to learn and grow. But guess what? A kind woman named Payton McGriff is helping out! She started a nonprofit organisation called Style Her Empowered (SHE).

Every year, SHE gives girls in Togo free uniforms and school supplies.

The idea for a new uniform!

When Payton McGriff went to Togo, she asked the girls about school. They told her that one of their biggest problems was paying for uniforms.

So, McGriff gave them uniforms and school supplies. At first, she helped 65 girls by making uniforms with local seamstresses. But there was a problem! The girls were growing fast, and their uniforms didn’t fit for long.

Then, she and her team had a brilliant idea! They created unique uniforms that grow with the girls!

How does this uniform work?

This dress has special cords on the sides that can be adjusted to fit just right. It has extra fabric hidden underneath, which can be used to increase its length!

The magic dress can be changed into six different sizes and worn for up to three years. When a student outgrows it, it can be passed on to a younger person, so everyone gets to wear it and go to school. Sharing is caring, after all!

This awesome dress helps girls go to school, and Payton McGriff’s work also gives jobs to local seamstresses and others, making the whole community happier and better.
