What have school students from Lucknow built?

Four school-age children from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh (UP), have taken action to protect the environment. They have created three battery-powered cars that don’t release any pollutants (wow!).

The clever young people who created the cars are Viraj Mehrotra (age 11), Aaryav Mehrotra (age 9), Garvit Singh (age 12), and Shreyansh Mehrotra (age 14). Robotics expert Milind Raj guided the team.

The vehicles were created to reduce noise and air pollution throughout the nation, offer affordable electric vehicles (EVs), and ensure that India becomes self-reliant in this field.

These cars, whose construction contain a Dust Filtration System (DFS) that purifies the air as it moves. A clean air stream is then released once the DFS has collected and filtered the dust particles. The vehicles can be driven for 100 kilometres on a single full charge (impressive!).

Many of the parts needed to build these cars are made from recycled materials. This is another excellent feature, isn't it? To meet the needs of various people at once, the cars are available in a variety of sizes and designs. They come in three-seater, two-seater, and one-seater options.

What’s next for the team?

The group's long-term goal is to create a low-cost car that will change this industry in India. The four kids' efforts were lauded by Brajesh Pathak, the deputy chief minister of UP.

These cars will be further shown at the investors' summit 2023, which is scheduled to take place in January or February of next year.
