India’s campaign starts with a win!
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 has recently started. India is in Group A with the USA, Canada, Pakistan, and Ireland.
India played their first match against Ireland on 5th June 2024 and defeated them easily. The win delighted Indian cricket fans. India’s next match is against an old rival.
India vs Pakistan!
India and Pakistan will face each other today, 9th June 2024, in New York, USA. The winner of this match will likely be the group topper.
While other teams are in the group, they are considered minnows as compared to India and Pakistan. However, anything can happen in cricket (and in life!).
India has won six out of seven T20 World Cup matches against Pakistan so we can hope for some good news soon!
India has been trophy-less for some time!
India has been chasing an ICC trophy for over ten years. They won the first T20 World Cup in 2007, as well as the 2011 Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.
Since then, India has faced disappointment in ICC tournaments. Last year, the team lost the ICC Cricket WC final against Australia.
India has prepared well this time and sent a strong squad to the T20 World Cup. Let's hope for the best!
Update: India has defeated Pakistan by six runs, much to the delight of the Indian fans.
