Even after this change, Michi did not give up. She adapted to her new life and stayed connected to space science.</p><h5>Why a Wheelchair Is Not a Problem</h5><p>On December 20, 2025, Michi travelled to space on a rocket built by Blue Origin. The rocket was called New Shepard, which took her past the Kármán line, the boundary of space, about 100Km above Earth.</p><p>The flight lasted about ten minutes. In space, astronauts float and move using their arms. Walking is not needed. Michi’s wheelchair was not taken on board because it was not needed in zero gravity.</p><h5>Why This Moment Is Important</h5><p>Michi’s spaceflight changes old ideas about who can go to space. It shows that technology can be changed to include more people.</p><p>Her story teaches us that disabilities do not end dreams. Sometimes, they help people find new strengths.</p>
