<h5>How do vaccines work?</h5>  <p>A vaccine is a type of medicine that teaches your body how to fight disease. Vaccines contain weak or dead versions of the virus or bacteria that cause dangerous diseases. The purpose of introducing this weak strain into your body is to teach your immune system how to fight it. 
This way, if you ever get infected with the normal version of the disease-causing virus/ bacteria, your immune system will be familiar with it and can protect you from getting sick.</p>

</p> <h5>Why are children the last to receive COVID-19 vaccines?</h5>  <p>Did you know that you’ve been getting vaccines since you were a baby? Children in India are given many vaccines from the time they are infants to protect them from deadly diseases like polio, hepatitis, etc.</p>
<p>Why is it that tiny babies are deemed safe to receive vaccines for such deadly diseases, but children are the last in line to get the COVID-19 vaccine?</p>
<p>That’s because the vaccines you’ve received when you were an infant have been around for a long time. They’ve been rigorously tested and researched. Scientists and doctors know that it’s completely safe for small children to take them.
COVID-19 is a brand new disease with brand new vaccines. Before its vaccines can be tried on babies and children, whose immune systems are still developing, they had to be tried on adults.</p>
<p>Now that a huge chunk of the adult population around the world has received the COVID-19 vaccine, countries are increasingly getting kids in on the action.
</p> <h5>What vaccine is the USA going to give to small children?</h5>  <p>The USA had allowed children between the ages of twelve and fifteen to get COVID vaccinations in 2021. Now, it’s allowing vaccinations for all children - even babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.</p>

The two vaccines that the US Government has allowed for small children are Moderna and Pfizer. The kids will receive a lesser dose than the adults receive.
</p> <h5>What vaccine is India going to give to small children?</h5>  <p>The two main vaccines being administered in India are Covishield and Covaxin. Covaxin is manufactured by a company called Bharat Biotech. Children between the ages of fifteen and eighteen are already being vaccinated with Covaxin at present. Twelve to fourteen-year-olds were being given a different vaccine called Corbevax.</p>

<p>However, a new research study has revealed that Covaxin is safe for children between the ages of two to eighteen. Bharat Biotech found that the vaccine was even more effective in children’s bodies than it was in adult bodies.</p>
<p>Bharat Biotech has fifty million doses of vaccine ready to be administered to small children. If you have a younger sibling or cousin, are you going to encourage them to take the vaccine?
