<h5>How does eating animal products affect the environment?</h5>  <p>Do you love eating juicy chicken burgers or pizza? If you’re vegetarian, you might love slurping on milkshakes, gulping down ice cream, slathering honey and butter on toast and pancakes or munching on paneer tikka. While delicious food should be enjoyed by all, eating animal products has a bad impact on the environment. Let’s see how:</p>
<p>1. A lot of land is needed to raise animals that will produce meat and milk. Huge forest areas are turned into farms where this can be done. Destroying forests is one of the main reasons why so many animals are going extinct nowadays.</p>
<p>2. Methane is a nasty greenhouse gas that’s causing a lot of climate change. You are going to roar with laughter when you find out what one of the biggest methane producers on the planet is - cow farts.</p>
<p>When you or I fart, it just produces a stinky smell. When cows fart, they produce methane. That’s not a problem if a cow is living in the wild or roaming on the streets. But when millions of cows are kept in one place to produce milk, which is how the dairy industry works, then can you imagine the amount of methane being released into the air? </p>
<p>3. It’s not just animal farming on land that’s harming the environment. Overfishing is hurting our oceans as well. It’s fine to enjoy a tuna sandwich or a plate of grilled prawns now and then. But when people around the world eat seafood regularly, then the oceans start to get emptied of all the unique and wonderful creatures that live there.
</p> <h5>What is veganism and how does it help?</h5>  <p>Veganism is the practice of giving up eating and using animal products. A person who follows veganism is known as a vegan. Vegans don’t eat meat or fish. They also don’t eat animal products like dairy or honey. And they don’t use animal products like leather or silk. Vegans live this lifestyle because it’s environmentally friendly and does not harm animals. </p>
<p>Three ways that veganism is awesome for the planet: </p>
<p>1. Veganism is the best and fastest way to fight climate change.</p>
<p>2. Eating a vegan diet is good for our health.

<p>If you love your tandoori chicken and ice cream, then you can keep eating them. It would be helpful to eat them less and explore more plant-based dishes. Remember that veganism is an extreme option and it’s not realistic for most people to give up animal products entirely.</p>
<p>On the other hand, we can’t keep eating animal products the way we are doing at the moment. It’s putting too much pressure on planet Earth and destroying too many forests and wildlife.</p>
<p>As the human population increases, it’s super-important that people eat less meat and dairy now more than ever. Reducing our intake of animal products has a huge positive impact on the environment and is one of the best ways to create a good change in the world.
