<h5>Which company has InterGlobe Enterprises formed a partnership with?</h5><p>InterGlobe Enterprises, which owns IndiGo Airlines, and US-based Archer Aviation recently announced a partnership to create and run an all-electric air taxi service in India. This service will be launched in 2026. The partnership wants to provide an alternate transportation mode in India.</p><p>Some of the country’s major cities face traffic congestion and pollution. Archer Aviation manufactures eVTOL aircraft. eVTOLs are said to be the future mode of transport that will be used in big cities. Photo by Archer Aviation.</figcaption></figure><h5>What do we know about the eVTOLs?</h5><p>The eVTOLs are named “Midnight.” They have a range of 161 km and can transport a pilot and four passengers. Midnight can reach speeds of up to 241 km/hour (150 miles/hour). These aircraft can reduce long travel times to minutes. A trip that takes around 60 to 90 minutes by car in Delhi will take about 7 minutes using this aircraft.</p><p>Midnight can also perform consecutive 20-mile (32 km) flights with only 12 minutes of charging time in between. Six separate battery packs power the aircraft, each powering two electric engines. This will help ensure the aircraft can fly safely even if a whole battery pack fails.</p><p>Midnight also has four flight control computers that will offer the pilot navigation and other data. These are some features of the eVTOLs. The company also wants to use the aircraft for logistics purposes. Someone can also use them as private flights.</p><p>Archer Aviation has also made a deal with the US Air Force to supply six Midnight aircraft to them. The company also has plans to establish an air taxi service in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).</p>
