<h5>When were the alien bodies shown?</h5><p>On 12th September 2023, Mexican lawmakers were presented with the remains of “non-human beings” during a hearing. This was the country’s first such hearing regarding Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO) or Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP). Politicians were shown two "alien bodies."</p><p>Mexican journalist and UFO enthusiast Jaime Maussan claimed they are the corpses of extraterrestrial beings.</p><h5>What did Jaime Maussan say about the bodies?</h5><figure class="image"><img src="https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/newsahoot.appspot.com/o/alien-bodies-shown-in-front-of-mexican-congress%2FAlien%202.jpg?alt=media&amp;token=12e2435b-d936-46a9-b5fe-8c28733b4dc2"><figcaption>An alien body presented before the Mexican Congress. Photo by Alerta Mundial.</figcaption></figure><p>Jaime Maussan said the bodies were discovered in 2017 near the Nazca Lines in Peru. He claimed the bodies to be around a thousand years old. He made this claim based on carbon dating done on them by Mexico's National Autonomous University (UNAM).</p><p>He said the bodies were discovered wrapped in algae, which helped preserve them. The two tiny "alien bodies" were placed in cabinets. They are white in colour, have three fingers on each hand, elongated heads, and long, slender limbs.</p><p>The director of the Mexican Navy’s Scientific Institute for Health, José de Jesús Zalce Benítez, also presented scans to the Congress. He said the beings once had large brains and eyes and were not similar to humans. He also said X-rays, DNA analysis, etc., were done on the remains.</p><p>However, many people are sceptical regarding the bodies presented by Maussan.</p><h5>Why are many people doubtful regarding the claims?</h5><p>Many scientists disagree with Jaime Maussan’s findings. He had made similar claims in Peru in 2017. However, an investigation by the country’s officials discovered that the bodies were manufactured dolls. They were covered with paper and synthetic glue to make the appearance of skin. The bodies presented by Maussan in 2017 were not revealed publicly.</p><p>So, it is unknown if they are the same bodies shown to the Mexican Congress. A researcher at UNAM said much of the data presented by Maussan made no sense. Scientists would require more advanced technology than X-rays to check whether the bodies are non-human.</p><p>UNAM also released a statement saying that they only determined the age of the two bodies. They didn’t make any assumptions regarding their origin. In 2015, Maussan reported on discovering an alien body in Peru.
