What do we know about the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve?

What artefacts have been discovered in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve?
Recent discoveries have revealed proof of a society that lived near the tiger reserve hundreds of years ago. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) discovered artefacts from a 2,000-year-old civilised society. Archaeologists have found historical items like a 1,500-year-old rock art and a 2,000-year-old artificial water body.
ASI officials confirmed that this area was part of an ancient trade route. Archaeologists have discovered 11 rock-cut caves used for shelter by traders on their journeys. The ongoing survey began on 1st April 2023 and will end on 30th June 2023. It can reveal many more secrets about the society that lived in the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve.
What else has been discovered in the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve?
In 2022, ASI discovered 46 new sculptures, including Buddhist caves, stupas, and inscriptions from the 2nd century. They also found Hindu temples dating from the 9th to 11th centuries.
Two monasteries and other relics have also been discovered. The findings in this area have added a new chapter to the history of Madhya Pradesh and India.
