When did Apple launch the new iPhones?
On 12th September 2023, Apple launched the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. These iPhones have many cool features. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus include Dynamic Island (a latest addition available only in Pro models earlier). They also have a new camera to take great pictures.
Both iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models are also fitted with the A16 Bionic chip. This will help them perform better. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are very light because they are made of titanium. They are fitted with the A17 Pro chip, which makes them work super well.
One big change is that charging ports were changed from the Lightning port to the USB-C ports.
Why was the charging port changed?
Apple had to change the charging ports because of a new rule. The European Union (EU) said that all electronics, including iPhones and AirPods, need to use the same USB-C charging port by the end of 2024.
This law was passed to reduce e-waste and make using various products easier. If all gadgets use the same charger, one can use one charger for many things. This can help people save money. You can read more about this rule here.
What is Apple doing about the environment?
The iPhone 15 is made with 75% recycled aluminium. The internal structural frame of the Pro model is made entirely of recycled aluminium. This shows that Apple is using recycled materials to help reduce its environmental impact.
Apple also released its first carbon-neutral product, the new Apple Watches. Apple has planned to make all of its products carbon-neutral by the end of this decade.
Apple is also using clean energy to make their products. Since 2018, they have used renewable energy in all their buildings. This shows how much Apple cares about our planet.
