Which board exam will be held twice a year?

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is considering having two board exams every year for 10th and 12th-grade students. This new format will begin in the 2024-25 academic session.

In 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CBSE split the board exams into two parts. Reports also say the new format will not be compulsory.

This new system is being introduced to help students reduce exam stress. If students are well-prepared and satisfied with their first exam score, they can choose not to take the second one.

Has any date been scheduled for the board exam in the new format?

An Education Ministry official said that the first board exam in the new format could happen in November-December 2024. The second one might take place in February-March 2025. The best scores from both exams will determine the final result and merit list.

Dharmendra Pradhan, the Education Minister, first talked about having two board exams in a 2023 interview. Let's wait and see what CBSE's final decision will be. What do you think about this new format? Share your thoughts in the comments.
