<h5>What kind of Indie dogs will be recruited?</h5><p>Various Indian dog breeds, such as Rampur hound, Gaddi, Bakharwal, etc., may soon join the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) to perform various police duties. The CAPFs, such as the BSF, CRPF, CISF, etc., are preparing to recruit these dog breeds. Trials are underway for breeds like the Rampur hound at the CRPF and BSF canine training centres.</p><p>The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has also launched trials for Indian dog breeds like the Mudhol hound. The SSB and the ITBP have completed their trials.</p><p>The MHA has also ordered the testing of Himalayan mountain dogs, such as the Himachali shepherd, Gaddi, Tibetan mastiff, etc., by the BSF, ITBP, and SSB. The trials are now underway. The CAPFs are India’s largest police dog users and have 4000 dogs. Police dogs are also trained to detect fake currency. Dogs are also used to locate terrorists. These forces are in charge of internal security and guarding the country’s border.</p><p>Various organisations under the CAPF have different roles to play. For example, the CISF secures and protects industrial enterprises and critical installations. The CRPF assists civil authorities in maintaining law and order, internal security, etc. There are seven organisations under the CAPFs. They are AR, BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, NSG, and SSB.</p>
