When was Youth Ideathon 2023 launched?
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently started 'Youth Ideathon 2023 (YI23)’ at their headquarters in New Delhi. This programme was first started in 2021.
YI23 is a five-part competition that started on October 6, 2023. Youth Ideathon is a yearly contest for students (Classes 4-12), organised with help from different government groups.
Why is the Youth Ideathon 2023 being organised?
The YI23 will help kids in India be more creative and think about starting their own businesses. The contest motivates students to think of innovative ideas that can help solve societal problems and improve people's lives.
This year's event will get kids from schools all over India excited about entrepreneurship through ideation, telling their ideas to an expert panel, etc.
Who can participate in it?
Students from any school can join in. It's open to all schools, no matter the board. Students need to form a team of 3 to 5 members. Teachers can also be a part of YI23, mainly as mentors to student teams.
This event has five parts. In Stage 1, you share your ideas. In Step 2, the top 1000 teams from the previous stage share their ideas on YouTube for everyone to see and talk about. The best 100 teams go to Stage 3, where they have a team interview.
The top 25 teams from Stage 3 go to Stage 4 and get a prize of Rs. 10,000. The top 10 teams make it to Stage 5 and get a special grant. There are also rewards for teachers and schools. All 1000 teams receive certificates, and there are other prizes, too.
All students are encouraged to participate and present their ideas. To do so, check out the website here.
