<h5>Plastic waste - a growing problem!</h5><p>Plastic waste is a significant issue that is worsening with time. Plastic takes a long time to degrade, during which it can release toxins into the soil and water. This contaminates the environment and endangers both humans and animals.</p><p>It harms marine creatures, such as fish and turtles. They frequently mistake it for food and eat it. The plastic can block their digestive or respiratory system, or they can get entangled in it and die.</p><p>So, steps are being taken to raise awareness about and reduce plastic waste with innovative initiatives like garbage cafés.</p><h5>Garbage Cafés! Sounds new.</p><p>The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) established garbage cafés to protect the environment and raise awareness about plastic waste disposal.</p><p>People who bring one kilogram of plastic waste, like empty water bottles, soft drink bottles, and other plastic materials, to these cafés receive a meal voucher for lunch or dinner. Those who bring 250 grams get vouchers for breakfast.</p><p>What a nice idea! This organisation recycles the waste.</p><p>This unique initiative is helping people become aware of the safe disposal of plastic waste so that it can be recycled and reused instead of being dumped into landfills.</p><p>Similar initiatives have been started in other places, although in various ways. Some are offering free meals, while others are offering rice, lentils, etc., in exchange for plastic.</p><h5>Importance of recycling plastic.</h5><p><a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.newsahoot.com/articles/tunisian-brand-turns-sea-plastic-into-dresses">Plastic recycling</a> is the process of turning plastic waste into various new products. This can help reduce the amount of plastic waste that ends up in the oceans and landfills.</p><p>Recycling plastic waste saves resources as the waste is used to make new products. This reduces the need for resources like oil and water used to manufacture new plastic products.</p><p>Still, we need more awareness campaigns and government initiatives to effectively reduce plastic waste.</p>
