<h5>Only humans and animals have skin, right?</h5>  <p>Did you know that the largest organ in the human body is the skin? Yes! It is the largest sense organ in the body. Human beings and animals are covered in  skin (or fur!) It helps us feel and protects us from bacteria and extreme temperatures. 
Ordinarily, humans have skin and inanimate objects do not. That is how we tell apart living and non-living things. Well, this could change very soon. 
Japanese scientists have invented something amazing. They have made human skin in a lab! They even wrapped it around a robotic finger, and now it looks and feels just like a human finger. Let’s see what plans tey have for this invention.
</p> <h5>How did they make human skin?</h5>  <p>Surprisingly (or not!?), they used real human skin to make skin in their lab. And what they've made is quite close to the real thing! Scientists used two things to make it: collagen and skin tissue. Our bodies have both of these naturally.
Want to know a fun fact about human skin? It begins to repair itself even if it gets a small cut or bruise. Well, so does the lab-made skin. In fact, this skin is even water-repellent. The scientists want to take their new invention to big Japanese robotics companies around the world.</p> <h5>How will robots benefit from this lab grown skin?</h5>  <p>There are many advantages to robots that look like us. These robots could be used in restaurants as waiters, or as nurses in old age homes and hospitals. They can take up dangerous jobs where people’s lives are at risk, such as stuntmen and security guards. 
</p> <h5>Could human beings use this lab-made skin?</h5>  <p>Robots aren’t the only ones who could use this lab-grown skin. Some human beings need new skin too. Normal human skin can heal on its own. But sometimes, people’s skin gets very damaged and cannot repair itself. </p>
<p>This includes people whose skin has been damaged by fire or very deep wounds. This new skin could be a replacement for damaged skin. Its self-healing quality would help cover up the scars naturally!</p>
<p>Sometimes, people lose body parts in terrible accidents as well. Some of them use prosthetics so they can carry on with their daily activities. These prosthetics are usually made out of plastic or metal and draw a lot of attention. This new wonder skin could be used to make a fake arm or leg look just like a real one!
</p> <h5>What does the future hold for this invention?</h5>  <p>There are still many unique things about human skin that lab-made skin cannot replicate. It is weaker than our natural skin. Scientists are trying to make it more life-like by adding features like nails, hair, and sweat glands.
This new invention could change so many lives. Because of it, we may be able to welcome robots to our human world soon. Wouldn’t that be such a thrill!?
