<h5>What is the Asia Cup?</h5><p>The Asia Cup is a cricket tournament where Asian teams participate. The competition began in 1984 in the One Day International (ODI) format. However, its recent editions have alternated between the ODI and Twenty20 formats.</p><p>This year’s tournament was the 16th edition. Pakistan and Sri Lanka co-hosted it. Six teams took part in the tournament. They are India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka (divided into two groups). This was Nepal’s debut in the tournament.</p><p>The tournament was held from 30th August to 17th September, 2023. India reached the final and emerged victorious. India had to chase down a target of only 51 runs after Sri Lanka was bowled out for 50 runs. India reached the target within 6.1 overs and with ten wickets remaining.</p><p>This marks India’s biggest win in ODI history while chasing a target. It also set a record for the biggest win in a final match of an ODI tournament in terms of balls left.</p><p>India is also the most successful team in the Asia Cup, winning the tournament eight times. But India won against Nepal to reach the tournament’s Super Four stage. India topped this stage by defeating Pakistan and Sri Lanka and entered the finals.</p><p>India didn't rely on a single player to win the tournament. They performed as a team, which showed their teamwork and determination to win this competition. India’s Shubman Gill was the tournament’s highest run-getter (302 runs), while Mohammed Siraj took ten wickets.</p><p>Virat Kohli broke a record during the tournament. He became the fifth player to reach 13,000 ODI runs during the match against Pakistan. He also became the fastest player to do so. Kuldeep Yadav also won the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award. All these achievements show how incredible India’s performance was in this tournament.</p>

The final match was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
