<h5>Who published the report?</h5><p>According to a survey undertaken by a professor from the Management Development Institute in Gurugram, Mizoram has been declared India’s happiest state.</p><p>The state’s happiness report is based on six factors, including family relationships, social issues and charity, work-related issues, religion, the effect of COVID-19 on happiness, and mental and physical health.</p><h5>Why has Mizoram been declared the happiest state in India?</h5><p>Mizoram is the second Indian state to reach 100% literacy (the first is Kerala). It provides students with various opportunities for progress and improving their skills and abilities. The youth of the state are highly focused on their education.</p><p>The survey also finds that Mizroam’s youth strive for financial independence at a young age. If they start earning money, they can buy the things they like instead of asking their parents for them. They also regard all tasks as equal. The state also has a low rate of gender-based discrimination.</p><p>Reports say upbringing also plays an important part in the happiness index of Mizoram's youth. The youth consider their professors as their greatest friends, not just educators. They can express anything in front of them, which helps them boost their self-confidence. According to this report, the people of Himachal Pradesh may be the happiest in India. The report also says that the people of Uttar Pradesh may be the saddest.</p><p>Along with Himachal Pradesh, the survey lists Punjab, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, and Tamil Nadu as the country's happiest states and union territories. Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Lakshadweep, and Jammu and Kashmir are the other states that have been placed at the bottom of the list.</p><p>In the 2022 report, the states were ranked according to the following criteria: life ladder, social support, freedom of choice, perception of corruption, and generosity. Other factors considered include the cost-price index, literacy rate, state domestic product, life expectancy, health indices, and poverty.</p><p>The report also found that around 65% of Indians are always anxious and disturbed. Health, financial conditions, workplace pressure, COVID-19, etc., are all reasons for this increase in anxiety levels.</p><h5>Why is being happy important?</h5><p>Happiness is essential because it improves social skills, academic achievement, and overall well-being. When a person is happy, they are more likely to have good mental health.
