<h5>What is Starship?</h5><p>The Starship spacecraft, along with the Super Heavy rocket, are commonly known as Starship together. It is a reusable transportation system designed by SpaceX. It can take crew and cargo to Earth’s orbit, the Moon, Mars, and even further. Starship is the most powerful launch vehicle ever created.</p><p>The Super Heavy rocket is the Starship launch system's first stage or booster. It is reusable and powered by various engines. It will be able to re-enter the Earth's atmosphere and return to the launch site. The Starship spacecraft is the second part of the Starship system. It will be used to carry crew and cargo.</p><p>Starship will be able to carry 100 people during interplanetary flights. It can also be used for more payload delivery, like large space telescopes, satellites, and other cargo. A base has to be developed on the Moon for future space explorations. Video by SpaceX.</figcaption> </figure></div><h5>Was the launch test successful?</h5><p>On 18th November 2023, the flight test was conducted. The Starship spacecraft reached space for the first time but didn't last long. The Super Heavy booster exploded shortly after separating from the Starship spacecraft. The spacecraft also exploded before reaching its target altitude.</p><p>The Super Heavy booster took flight and successfully separated from the Starship spacecraft. The booster then exploded as it fell back to Earth. It was supposed to splash down in the Gulf of Mexico. The spacecraft appeared to be on its way to an eastward flight around Earth.</p><p>It would have circled the planet before splashing into the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii. However, the connection with the Starship was lost a few minutes later. Video by Space.com.</figcaption></figure><h5>Why did the NASA chief congratulate SpaceX?</h5><p>Even though SpaceX's Starship exploded during its second-flight test, it performed well enough to give some positive results. It performed better than the previous flight test conducted in April 2023. All the engines of the Super Heavy rocket ignited, and the booster separated from the Starship spacecraft as planned.</p><p>During the second flight test, Starship flew longer and higher than the previous flight test. All these tests will help SpaceX better the spacecraft.
