About Notre-Dame.
Notre-Dame is a very famous church in Paris, France. The name means "Our Lady of Paris" in French.
The church was built a long time ago, between the 12th and 14th centuries. It is famous for its tall towers, colourful glass windows, and amazing stone decorations. Many people visit Notre-Dame every year to enjoy its beauty and learn its story.
Notre-Dame catches fire.

In April 2019, something very sad happened. A fire started in Notre-Dame and burned the roof and the tall spire. People around the world were shocked! Many, including rich businessmen, sent money to help fix it.
Nobody knows exactly how the fire started. Some think it might have been an electrical problem.
A promise to rebuild.
After the fire, French President Emmanuel Macron made a big promise. He said Notre-Dame would be fixed in five years - and he kept his promise! Thousands of workers worked hard, using oak trees and other materials to repair the church.
The reopening.
On 7th December 2024, Notre-Dame opened again! The church bells rang loudly, and many important people, like the French President and Britain’s Prince William, came to celebrate. A big organ with 8,000 pipes played beautiful music.
For eight days, special prayers and ceremonies are now being held. Many people are visiting Notre-Dame to see how it was rebuilt. It is now a symbol of hope and strength for everyone!
