What are the Golden Globe Awards?
The Golden Globe Awards are given by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) to celebrate outstanding achievements in movies and TV from the previous year.
The first Golden Globe Awards were presented in 1944. Nowadays, the Golden Globes recognise accomplishments in 27 categories. Recently, the 2024 Golden Globe Awards were held at the Beverly Hilton, Los Angeles, USA.
Who are some of the winners of the 2024 Golden Globe Awards?
Oppenheimer won lots of Golden Globe Awards. It got Best Film (in the drama category). Cillian Murphy won Best Male Actor (in the drama category) for playing scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer (the creator of the nuclear bomb) in the movie.
Robert Downey Jr. got an award for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture. Christopher Nolan won Best Director - Motion Picture for Oppenheimer. The movie also won Best Original Score - Motion Picture.
Lily Gladstone won the Best Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama award for the movie Killers of the Flower Moon. Barbie got an award in the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category. Kieran Culkin won the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Drama award.
