Russia Launches ICBM Against Ukraine
Russia’s latest attack shocks everyone!

The war between Russia and Ukraine has caused a lot of harm. Many people have lost their homes and lives. The world is watching, hoping the fighting will stop soon.

Ukraine says that Russia just sent a powerful missile to the city of Dnipro. This missile is called an ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile). But don’t worry — it didn’t have a nuclear warhead. It only had a regular warhead.

This happened after Ukraine used missiles from the USA and Britain to attack Russia. Russia had warned Ukraine that this could make the fighting much worse.

What is ICBM?

An ICBM is a special missile that can travel a long way — over 5,500 kilometres (3,400 miles). It’s very fast and can reach places like the USA from Russia in about 40 minutes!

These missiles are usually used with nuclear warheads, but they can also carry regular explosives.

Russia’s response to the ICBM launch.

Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, says that they didn’t use an ICBM. He says they used a new missile. This missile is super fast — it can travel 10 times faster than the speed of sound! Because of how fast it is, it’s hard for defence systems to stop it.

The USA says the new missile, Oreshnik, is still being tested, and Russia might not have many of them yet.

Even though this missile from Russia didn’t carry a nuclear warhead, it could easily be changed to carry one in the future.
