Dust storm? What’s that?
We've heard about snowstorms, thunderstorms, etc. But, a dust storm? ???? Sounds new, right?
A dust storm is a debris and dust blown into an area by strong winds from thunderstorms. The wind can carry dust and debris from the ground into the air, causing a dust storm.
Dust storms happen in many places worldwide, with most of them occurring in North Africa and the Middle East.
Dust storm hits Mumbai!
Recently, Mumbai experienced heavy rainfall and a dust storm. The rain brought relief from the heat, but the dust storm darkened Mumbai's skyline.
This sudden weather change surprised Mumbaikars and stopped traffic as people took shelter.
The dust storm and heavy rain caused a big hoarding to collapse on a petrol pump, hurting and even killing some people. Further investigations are being made, but reports say that this hoarding was illegal.
The storm also uprooted trees, caused power cuts, and temporarily stopped local trains, metro, and airport services.
Harmful effects of dust storms!

A sudden dust storm can surprise people, reduce visibility, and cause accidents while driving. Such storms can also cause flight cancellations and delays.
The dust can cause eye irritation, and one can inhale the dust, causing health problems.
So, one must avoid driving and stay indoors during a dust storm. If outside, one should cover their nose and mouth with a cloth or mask to prevent inhaling dust.
