Why is Bengaluru facing a water crisis?

Bengaluru is facing a severe water crisis. There's not enough water because it's not raining much, and the groundwater is decreasing. A severe drought has caused water levels in the Cauvery River to drop.

Many borewells in Bengaluru have dried up because of the lack of rain. This shortage affects both drinking water and farming. Many people are suffering because of this serious water shortage.

People in Bengaluru don't have enough water. They can't take baths, wash clothes, or give water to their animals. Lots of families are struggling to get enough water for everyone. People are complaining because water tanker companies are charging too much money for water.

What is the government doing about the water crisis?

The government in Karnataka is spending lots of money to help with the water problem. The government will find water and make sure everyone gets it for a fair price.

The Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has been asked to provide water from places with lots of groundwater. The government has also told water tanker companies not to charge too much money during this situation. The Bengaluru district administration has set a limit on how much these companies can charge.

Keeping the water shortage in mind, the use of drinking water for car washing, gardening, construction, road construction, etc., has also been banned.
