Eating chips turned deadly!
Kids all over love eating chips. They come in tasty flavours and are fun to share with friends. But some chips can be very spicy!
In Tokyo, a student brought super spicy chips called "R 18+ Curry Chips" to school. These chips have ghost peppers, also called bhut jolokia, a very spicy chilli!
Many kids tried the chips, and some felt sick. Their mouths burned, and 14 students had to go to the hospital!
Isoyama Corp, the chip company, said sorry and hoped the kids would feel better soon.

Is Bhut Jolokia the hottest chilli in the world?

Bhut Jolokia is one of the spiciest chillies ever! But guess what? There's an even hotter one called Pepper X!
We use Scoville Heat Units (SHU) to measure how spicy chillies are. Bhut Jolokia has 1,001,304 SHU. Pepper X has 2,693,000 SHU! Green chillies we eat have only 2,500 to 30,000 SHU. Can you imagine the difference?
Eating Pepper X makes your mouth feel on fire for hours. Imagine eating this chilli and turning into a fire-breathing dragon!
People of different cultures have different spice tolerance.
Did you know that not everyone can handle spicy foods the same way? Some people love them, while others find them too hot!
In places like India, Mexico, and Thailand, people eat a lot of spicy foods. Kids there start eating spicy meals early, so they get used to the heat.
Spicy foods can help cool the body in hot weather by causing people to sweat. That’s why many tropical countries eat spicy cuisine. So, do you like spicy foods? Tell us in the comments.
