Love is love!

There is a chance that you have only seen one type of couples or life partners - a man and a woman (or husband and wife).

This can make us think there's only one type of relationship. But in real life, love can happen between any two people, no matter their gender.

Sometimes, a man and a woman fall in love and get married. Other times, a woman falls in love with another woman, or a man falls in love with another man, and they can get married too. These are known as same-sex couples or same-sex partners.

This is completely natural and normal, and there's no reason to think it's wrong.

Thailand's government has just passed a bill legally allowing same-sex marriage (Yay!).

Now, men can marry other men, and women can marry other women in Thailand. This makes them the third Asian country to do so after Nepal and Taiwan.

The bill also gives same-sex couples the same rights as heterosexual couples in things like adoption.

Thailand's decision has made many people happy, and the LGBTQ community hopes other countries will do the same.

The situation in India.

Last year, the Supreme Court of India decided not to legalise same-sex marriage, which made the LGBTQ community very sad.

But the court did make some decisions in their favour, like forming a committee to study the rights of people in same-sex relationships.

Let’s hope India also allows same-sex marriage in the future.
