What is Forbes?

Forbes is an American business magazine (started in 1917) that publishes articles on technology, communications, science, finance, etc. Forbes is best known for its lists like the top 30 under 30 (top 30 people who are under the age of 30), Asia’s Power Businesswomen list, etc.

Recently, Forbes Asia published the “Asia’s Power Businesswomen” list. This year’s list includes three Indian women entrepreneurs (yay!!).

Cool! What is the 2022 Asia’s Power Businesswomen list about?

On 8th November 2022, Forbes Asia published the "2022 Asia's Power Businesswomen" list. There are 20 women from the Asia-Pacific region on this list. They were recognised for working hard to grow their businesses.

Some of these women work in real estate and construction, while others work in technology, pharmaceuticals, etc. This year's list has three women each from India, Japan, Australia, and Indonesia, two each from South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand, and one each from Taiwan and China.

Oh wow! Who are the three Indians on this list?

The three Indians on this list are Soma Mondal, Namita Thapar, and Ghazal Alagh. Let’s see who they are:-

Soma Mondal - She is the first female head of the Steel Authority of India Ltd. Since she became the head in 2021, the company’s yearly income has increased. Namita Thapar - She is the executive director of Emcure Pharma. She is also an author and the host of a YouTube show.

Ghazal Alagh - She is the co-founder of Honasa Consumer. The companies under Honasa Consumer are Mamaearth, The Derma Co, Aqualogica, and Ayuga. All three women are quite successful.
