That would be really sad, right?</p><p>Well, that's what's been happening in Gaza because of a war between <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.newsahoot.com/articles/israel-hamas-ceasefire-what-do-we-know">Israel</a> and <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.newsahoot.com/articles/israel-s-iron-dome-overwhelmed-by-repeated-attacks">Hamas</a>. Photo by United Nations.</figcaption></figure><p>Yes and no. The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has asked that the fighting in Gaza be stopped for a little while. All hostages also must be allowed to return to their homes.</p><p>This development comes after most members of the UNSC voted in its favour. Video by United Nations.</figcaption> </figure></div><p>The US considers Israel a really good friend in the Middle East, a region where things can be tense most of the time.</p><p>In the UNSC, the US and four other permanent member countries (China, France, the United Kingdom, and Russia) can reject or stop any idea or decision they don't like.</p><p>Earlier, the US rejected a plan to stop fighting. However, this time, they neither rejected nor supported the plan.</p><h5>Will Israel follow the decision?</h5><p>All countries have to do what the UNSC says, or they'll get in trouble. Now, it's Israel's turn to do better and stop the war.</p><p>The Palestinians have suffered a lot from all the damage and people dying. We hope the war will stop forever soon.</p>
