<h5>What is wrestling?</h5>  <p>Wrestling is a sport that is played by two participants. The objective of this sport is to force the opponent to touch the ground with some part of their body other than the feet. Generally, the opponent has to be pinned down on their back. The participants use various methods such as holds, clinches, etc. to take down their opponents.</p>
<p>It is said that the ancient Greeks developed wrestling to train their soldiers. In present times, wrestling has become a prominent sport. It is played in the Olympics and many other tournaments across the world.</p>
<p>One such tournament is the World Wrestling Championship. The latest edition of this competition was held from 10th September 2022 to 18th September 2022 in Belgrade, Serbia.</p> <h5>What is the World Wrestling Championship?</h5>  <p>The United World Wrestling organises the World Wrestling Championships. In 1904, Men’s Greco-Roman Wrestling was started. The Men's Freestyle Wrestling tournament began in 1951 while the first Women’s Freestyle Wrestling tournament took place in 1987.
These three styles of wrestling are part of the World Wrestling Championships, which is a wrestling competition where wrestlers from various countries take part. Even Indian wrestlers represent the country in this competition.  
</p> <h5>Okay. What is the difference between Greco-Roman and Freestyle Wrestling?</h5>  <p>Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling are two different types of wrestling. In Greco-Roman, a wrestler is not allowed to hold an opponent below the waist. They must only use their torso and body to defeat the opponent. Even legs cannot be used to defend or attack.</p>

In freestyle wrestling, the wrestler can hold their opponent below their waist and can use their legs to attack or defend. So, the tactics used in both these techniques are different from each other.
</p> <h5>How did all of the competing teams perform in this competition?</h5>  <p>All of the wrestlers competing on behalf of their countries put their all towards winning. But, wins and losses occur in every sport. Not every participant managed to win a medal. However, that does not mean that they are bad. Representing their respective nations is an achievement in itself.
Out of all the participating nations, the United States of America (USA) took home the most medals. They won 15 medals in total (7 gold, 6 silver, and 2 bronze). They were followed by Japan (7 gold, 1 silver, and 5 bronze) and Turkey (4 gold, 0 silver, and 3 bronze).

      </figure> <p>The World Wrestling Championships 2022 has been a disappointment for Indian wrestlers. They managed to win only two bronze medals in this year’s competition. Both the medals were won by Bajrang Punia (Men’s Freestyle) and Vinesh Phogat (Women’s Freestyle).
