Do you think the Electoral Bond scheme was fair?

The Supreme Court of India recently struck down the Electoral Bond scheme because it was found to be unconstitutional. What are your thoughts about it?

Imagine your schoolmate's parents gave a huge donation to your school. Earlier, this schoolmate was always punished for his indiscipline and also faced a lot of scolding from teachers because of his low marks. However, soon after his parents gave the donation, the behaviour of the school authorities began changing towards him. He was not punished as often, and his marks suddenly became good. He was also made the school head boy.

Without knowing about the donation, anyone would become suspicious about this development. However, if the school was open about who its donors were, students could complain about this 'favouritism' and demand that every student be treated equally.

Apply this scene to the entire country, with the parents being 'big businessmen' and the school being 'the Government of India'. This situation would have become the rule if the Electoral Bond scheme continued. You can read more about it here.
