Whom did India defeat to win the gold medal?
The Indian women's cricket team won the gold medal in the Asian Games. It was their first time participating in this competition. India beat Sri Lanka by 19 runs in the final match. Sri Lanka got the silver medal. Bangladesh beat Pakistan to win the bronze medal.

How was the final match?
The final game was tough, with only a few runs scored. Harmanpreet Kaur, India's captain, decided to bat first after winning the toss. At the end of the first innings, India scored 116/7 (it was a T20 match).
In the second innings, India’s Titas Sadhu quickly got rid of the first three Sri Lankan batters. The middle Sri Lankan players tried hard to win, but India's spinners took wickets and didn't let them score too many runs. Sri Lanka finished with 97/8 after 20 overs.
This is India's second gold medal at the Asian Games 2023, following the recent gold medal won by the 10m rifle team.
