The latest plan is in the works.
The Indian Armed Forces are making some super cool changes! They want to show off India’s amazing culture and history instead of colonial influences from British rule. This has been happening since India became free!
Prime Minister Modi is cheering them on, saying that we should use more Indian ideas to keep our country safe. Together, the Armed Forces are on a special mission to honour our roots and build a bright future that makes us proud to be Indian!
What are some of the planned changes?

The changes include teaching soldiers about famous Indian strategists instead of just Western ones. The Armed Forces are also reducing the number of Scottish pipe bands and ensuring Army units show all of India!
To help young officers think like Indian heroes, they are adding books by smart Indian thinkers to their lessons. Military schools are planning fun events about Indian values and ways to win battles!
There are also plans to include Indian poems and prayers instead of old English ones in their training. The Army, Navy, and Air Force have their own rules, but there are plans to make one set of rules to work better together!
Changes that have already been made.
Several old military customs from the colonial days, including changing the crests of Army units and the naval flag, have been removed.
During Republic Day, you can hear more Indian music and instruments. The famous song “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon” has replaced an old hymn. This year, the Navy allowed its personnel to wear traditional kurta-pyjamas in their dining halls.
These changes show how the Armed Forces are proudly celebrating their own traditions. Isn’t that awesome?
