<h5>Which company built this rocket?</h5>  <p>On 18th November 2022, a six-minute flight by a test rocket carrying three mock payloads made history in India. It was the country's first private space mission. This rocket was built by the Indian company “Skyroot Aerospace.” The rocket was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.</p>
<p>The mission was a technology demonstrator, which means it was the first space mission conducted before an actual flight. The Vikram-S rocket travelled 89.5 kilometres from Earth before crashing into the Bay of Bengal. The name of the suborbital mission was Prarambh (meaning beginnings), which turned out to be a success (yay!).
Suborbital means that the rocket reached space but it did not complete the Earth's orbit. This mission acts as a precursor to other launch missions that Skyroot Aerospace plans to conduct next year alongside other domestic space companies such as “Agnikul Cosmos.”</p> <h5>What do we know about the rocket?</h5> <figure>

      </figure> <p>The Vikram-S rocket has been developed over two years by Skyroot Aerospace, a company founded in 2018. This rocket was launched to test nearly 80% of all systems before the launch of Vikram-1 next year. Vikram-1 will be a much larger rocket capable of orbital flight.</p>
<p>Skyroot's Vikram rocket series is named after Vikram Sarabhai, the founder of India's space programme. The Vikram-S rocket’s engine, 'Kalam-80', was named after former President APJ Abdul Kalam. The performance of the engine was monitored by the company during its flight.
The rocket carried three payloads developed by N Space Tech India in Andhra Pradesh, Space Kids in Chennai, and Armenian BazoomQ Space Research Lab. Vikram-S weighs 545 kilograms, has a length of 6 metres, and a diameter of 0.375 metres.</p> <h5>What is the significance of this mission?</h5> <figure>

With this launch, the road has opened for India’s private companies to venture into the space launch market.</p>
