Earlier, the team lineup had to be announced before the toss. This new rule will offer teams an advantage in deciding which starting eleven to use based on the toss results.</p><p>The IPL 2023 season will feature an “Impact Player.” An impact player is a substitute who can replace any player in the lineup. A team must list four substitutes in addition to the starting eleven. They can choose any one of them to be their impact player. The substituted player will not return to the game.</p><p>Say a team is batting first. They can play an extra batter. After their batting is over, they can replace the batter with a bowler. This is how an impact player works. Also, players can use Decision Review System (DRS) to review wide and no-ball rulings for the first time. DRS could only be used for reviewing wickets earlier.</p><p>The new DRS rule was used in the Women’s Premier League for the first time. Now it will be used in the IPL.</p><h5>What can fans expect from IPL 2023?</h5><p>In this year’s IPL, fans can expect some newcomers to take the league by storm.
