Fast bowlers - a menace to batsmen!
Batsmen don’t like facing fast bowlers bowling at very high speeds! We have seen fast bowlers like Brett Lee, Shoaib Akhtar, Dale Steyn, etc., strike fear in talented batsmen.
Earlier, India wasn't known for fast bowling. But now, bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have changed that! Recently, a new Indian bowling sensation has emerged.
A new bowling sensation?! Who?
Since the Indian Premier League (IPL) began in 2008, it has provided a stage for young cricketers to show their talent.
Now, in this year’s IPL, everyone is watching Mayank Yadav, who is playing for the Lucknow Super Giants.
The 21-year-old bowled the fastest ball of IPL 2024 at 156.7 kmph! This is much higher than the usual speed of fast bowlers, which is between 130-140 kmph.
He is also currently ranked second on the list of the most wicket-takers this season.
India team call-up soon?!
Mayank Yadav's amazing bowling has excited fans and ex-players. Who wouldn't be thrilled to see an Indian fast bowler take on top batsmen? Now, fans want him on the Indian team.
Yadav needs to work hard and perform consistently. If he does so, he might get selected to play for India in the upcoming T-20 World Cup.
Can Yadav break Shaun Tait’s record of bowling at 157.7 kmph? Only time will tell!
