People in Joshimath were scared when they noticed cracks in the roads and houses. The locals are saying that the town is 'gradually sinking.' After cracks appeared in around 560 houses, people started protesting against the administration.

The damage to the houses varies, but it has affected many residents. Many people have fled the area, fearing that the town may sink. People are being evacuated and moved to safer places. The government is taking steps to help the people.

What steps are being taken by the government to help the people?

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami will meet officials in Dehradun and will visit the town to check the situation. The district administration has asked Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC) and the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) to build 2,000 houses in another area for people fleeing Joshimath.

The government has appointed a team of scientists to look into the causes of the land sinking and the damage to the houses. Engineers have also been sent to Joshimath to study the cracks and landslides. All construction in the area has also been stopped.

The state government is doing everything possible to deal with the situation and help the people of Joshimath. Let us hope that the residents of this town remain safe and unharmed.
