Video by The Royal Family.</figcaption> </figure></div><p>The famous K-pop group Blackpink has received the MBE medals from King Charles in recognition of the group's support for climate change awareness campaigns. The group was honoured during a private ceremony at the Buckingham Palace recently. South Korea’s president, Yoon Suk Yeol, and First Lady Kim Keon Hee were also present.</p><p>The medals were presented to Blackpink members Roseanne Park (Rosé), Jennie Kim, Jisoo Kim, and Lalisa Manoban (Lisa) in honour of the group‘s involvement as <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.newsahoot.com/articles/india-presents-a-plan-to-help-save-the-environment-at-cop27">COP</a>26 advocates for the COP26 Summit in Glasgow 2021.</p><h5>What was Blackpink’s role as COP26 advocates?</h5><div class="raw-html-embed"><figure> <iframe width="100%" height="350" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0pJ1oD-OXZo" title="CALLING ALL BLINKS: CLIMATE ACTION IN YOUR AREA! #COP26" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><figcaption>A video on climate change by Blackpink. This resulted in better involvement from a young audience with the summit in Glasgow.</p><p>The United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has also appointed the group as global ambassador for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG). The group also inspired many young people to discuss the topic of climate action.</p><p>Blackpink fans, also called Blink, are happy with the news of the group receiving the award.</p>
