How are subsea cables laid?
First, experts look at the ocean floor to find the best place to put the cables. They make sure the cables are safe. Then, special ships lay the cables on the ocean floor.
In some places, the cables are buried under sand, but in deep water, the cables stay on the sea bed.

Meta, the company that owns Facebook and Instagram, is building its own subsea cable. This cable will be very long, over 25,000 miles (40,000 km)!
