What are misleading ads?
Imagine one day you see ads for a drink that is claiming to be a health drink. You buy it and then notice it is full of unhealthy added sugar. That’s an example of a misleading ad.
Recently, a huge company called Patanjali was caught publishing misleading ads. They were claiming they could cure incurable diseases!!
The Supreme Court (SC) of India ordered them to stop such ads, but they didn’t listen. So, the SC has now banned their ads. Patanjali is also disallowed from bad-mouthing other medicines.
Patanjali releases apology ads!

On 24th April 2024, the company published a public apology in newspapers for ignoring the SC's order not to publish such ads.
On 21 November 2023, Patanjali promised not to say bad things about modern medicine. However, the next day they broke their promise. Patanjali has apologised for doing so.
SC’s role in upholding the law!
The SC plays an important role in ensuring that laws are followed, making fair decisions, and protecting citizen rights.
The SC ensures the law is fair for everyone, whether big companies or regular people. Those who break it get punished, like Patanjali, for its misleading ads.
