What has PM Modi said?
Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi recently held public meetings in Rajasthan, which turned controversial.
The PM referred to Muslims as “infiltrators” and “those who have a large number of children.” He also said that a former Congress PM said that “Muslims had the first claim on the country’s resources.”
He said if Congress wins, it plans to give people’s personal wealth to the Muslims.
Reaction to the remarks.

Many people, including opposition parties, criticised PM Modi for targeting Muslims. They say the PM is dividing the country based on religion and spreading hate against Muslims.
The Election Commission of India received complaints concerning the PM’s comments and is examining them.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said the PM supports the Muslim community and helps them.
Why such remarks are not okay.
A country with a huge population will have people from different cultures, religions, etc. This makes India unique and strengthens our bond with everyone.
So, such remarks by someone like the PM can harm India’s image as a secular country and cause people to hate each other.
Imagine how bad you would feel if people you know made discriminatory remarks against you because of your religion or culture.
The PM should encourage equality and respect for all, not spread hatred against a particular community.
We must also speak up against leaders who try to divide us and treat everyone respectfully, no matter their caste, religion, etc.
